One of the first accredited private laboratories in Berlin that provides tests for genetic diseases, to the medical and health care sector, to physicians and clinicians, as well as to the general public
In 2004, the forensic test procedures were accredited by the German Accreditation Council. In 2009, they were re-accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and the Genetic Diagnostics Act (Act on Human Genetic Testing – GenDG). In 2014, the accreditation was reaffirmed by the German Accreditation Authority (DAkkS).
As one of the leading institutes in the field of genetic diagnostics, the IMMD has developed a series of tests based on a proprietary technology for DNA analysis. Small amounts of blood are dried on special test paper for these procedures. These samples can be comfortably taken from patients at their physician’s office or at home. The sample is then mailed to our laboratory.
Our laboratories are checked via regular inspections and external quality studies. These encompass the clinical-genetic analyses and “paternity tests.” Quality controls are organized by the German and the European Society of Human Genetics. IMMD also participates in the annual audits performed by the Society for Forensic Medicine (GEDNAP) and the German Society for Parentage Testing (DGAB). All tests developed by IMMD are tested and certified.
